The Last Arty Girlz Challenge ~ 'Stamping'

The very first Arty Girlz challenge was 'Stamping' so we have chosen that as our theme to end on

This will be the last challenge on Arty Girlz for the time being, we have both LOVED setting challenges for you every Tuesday but at the moment we are very busy with real life.

This blog will not be deleted, it will remain active as there is lots of inspiration still to be had from the samplers and challenges, who knows one day we might surprise you all and start it up again but for the time being this will be the last Arty Girlz challenge.

We would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for making this such an enjoyable experience for us, we have made so many new friends along the way and we hope that you will continue to visit our personal blogs as we will still be posting on those.

Here's our stamping creations

Arty Girlz weekly challenge #76 SMILE with Guest Designer Anna Koziarek

This weeks Arty Girlz challenge has been set by Anna koziarek AKA Fryne who is our guest designer for this week. Fryne has choosen the theme SMILE...

As always you decide the format so you may decide to do a scrapbook layout, card, atc...anything that you like.

To join in with this challenge please post an image of your creation on your blog or website with a link to Arty Girlz and then leave a comment here with a link so that we can come and see what you have made.

So without further ado here is a short bio from Anna or as most of us know her by her nick name Fryne.

My name's Anna. I'm Polish, 32, mother of two sons (George 3,5 & Jeremy 1,2) and wife. I started scrapbooking when I was pregnant with my second baby and suddenly fell in love with it.

I tend to use one colour in my works (usually it's brown :D ) and lots of embellishments (the more the better :) ). I adore Tim Holtz's products and ornamental, baroque papers like Blue Awning by K&Company, Cavalier by Prima Marketing or BG kits. I collect stamps (especially rubber ones) but rarely use them :D I prefer making albums than LO's even if it takes much more time (I usually work about a week or two on an album). My favourite theme: my kids of course, maybe because the only photos I have are those of George and Jeremy, but most probably because they're so adorable...

My LO I prepared for this challenge shows the theme in a surprising, a little bit opposite way than expected. With those dark colours I simply wanted to show how a mother feels when she sees her child worried or thoughtful.my blog: http://frynologia.blogspot.com/

Here are Anna's wonderful creations

You can see more of Anna's beautiful work on her blog Here

Thank you Anna for being our Guest Designer this week and sharing your beautiful work with us crissi & Julie xx

'Transparent' Sampler

Tuesday 20 January 2009

Arty Girlz Weekly Challenge # 69 'Transparent' With Guest Designer Fabrizio

This weeks challenge on Arty Girlz is 'Transparent' so basically you just have to use something clear/transparent on your creation. So you could use clear buttons, page pebbles, zoomz, flowers punched from acetate, printable transparencies for your scrapbook layouts etc... As always you decide the format so you may decide to do a scrapbook layout, card, atc...anything that you like.

To join in with this challenge please post an image of your creation on your blog or website with a link to Arty Girlz and then leave a comment here with a link so that we can come and see what you have made

We have a special treat for you, the wonderful Fabrizio is our Guest Designer. Take a look at his fantastic creation !!

Fabrizio describes how he made this beautiful card and also tells us about himself...

I cut the acetate and added some strips of papers at the back. Then I added a fabric flower and a folded paper flower making sure a matching tag was behind....that's on the front so when you open the card you have only the triangle of acetate and the flower and the background trim is at the back.

Hi everyone, My name is Fabrizio and I've been living in Britain for the past 18 years. The idea was to come to London back in '91 to improve my English and I never looked back ever since. I've done all sort of jobs: McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Benetton...a brief spot at University which didn't work out until I finally found my dream job in a bookshop off Piccadilly Circus.

What I didn't know at that time is that I was suffering from bi-polarism so after an unfortunate series of events...I found myself crafting to distract myself from a chronic agoraphobia (9 years already), bi-polarism and finally diabetes (ain't I a basket full of fun ? LOL). Anyway, paper crafting was and still is my saviour, I wake up thinking 'What am I going to make today?', it gives me focus and enjoy it tremendously.

I had an old blog but didn't post that often on it until I decided to create a new one on Blogger and I met lots of really nice crafters with their own stories to tell. I also frequent a few forums where I swap cards or ATC.

My style of crafting is quite eclectic, I like to try all sort of techniques and new paper combinations. I'm more a cardmaker than a scrapbooker (my partner, Vince, is the scrapbooker in the family) but I do enjoy creating keepsakes for my friends and family members.

Ciao ciao ! Fabrizio.
